I'm disappointed to see the way these maps split up the city of Lansing. While the surrounding suburbs do share some identity with the city, in many ways they are dealing with different concerns. Under the current maps, we would be heading into next year with one representative from Delta Township in Eaton County, and one representative from Delhi Township in Ingham County, and no representatives who actually live in the city of Lansing. There are plenty of residents in the city to draw a district specific to Lansing and combine suburban voters in a different way.
