As others have pointed out in their comments, this map is way too partisan

Possibly the worst of 9 maps. Plain and Simple: Non-wave election cycles does not demonstrate a 50.2/49.8 split in District 10 but a much more RNC favorable district. An active effort is being made in this map to ensure that inconsistent community representation is occurring, splitting up communities such as Warren and Center Line, to the point where the communities have their votes diluted. A nearly RNC leaning district is fabricated from whole-cloth where none should demographically exist, damaging partisan fairness more than necessary. 12 opportunity districts are created, but the separations seem designed to reduce overall CoI coverage. Honestly, this is a terrible map, and the only person who I could see viewing it positively is someone specifically bent on increasing partisan representation in favor of a specific party at this time, and is carefully using math to get away with it.

This map creates too great a Republican advantage. It is not a fair map. This is inconsistent with the goals of the constitutional amendment. This is worse than what we have now, which is also unfair --- the committee should be able to do better.

I have been a Harper Woods resident for many years now, and I find this map completely inappropriate for the community’s shared history with Grosse Pointe. Frankly, Harper Woods and Grosse Pointe belong together.

My fiancee is from Grosse Pointe, and we bought our first home together in Harper Woods to be close to his parents, and for continued access to the Grosse Pointe public school system. Many of our neighbors have done the same. It’s created a unified community feel between HW and the Grosse Pointe area.

Many of us live in Harper Woods and work in Grosse Pointe, and vice versa. We also share many public services like fire and EMS, and have similar environmental issues when it comes to flooding. They are also both Wayne County communities. Eastpointe is a completely different community and has different issues than we do in Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods, and this maps dilutes their representation too. Please vote down this map and keep Harper Woods and Grosse Pointe together.

This map totally sucks. It has no partisan fairness.

The new District 10 and District 11 map overlooks the fact that the Grosse Pointes and Harper Woods have always been connected economically, socially, and politically. Residents shop in the same areas, share a portion of the GP school district, and have similar political concerns.

Terrible example of a compact map. My Warren district 14 crosses into both Oakland and Wayne counties. Rejected for crossing multiple county lines.

Warren is the third largest city in Michigan this map cracks Warren into 4 districts and it is unclear if Warren would have a majority representation in ANY of the districts

As Clerk of Madison Heights, this splits our small community into 3 districts - confusing and not necessary.

This map creates too great a Republican advantage. It is not a fair map.

In this map, the proposed 7th District groups Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge, Hazel Park, and part of Madison Heights together with part of northwest Detroit (including the University District). I like that it sticks with the “bacon strip” model of combining a portion of Wayne County and southern Oakland County together. However, Madison Heights should not be split in two. Another downside of this proposed map is that Oak Park and Huntington Woods are separated into the 5th and 6th Districts respectively. Both cities have a strong Jewish population and should be considered a community of interest. (I’m also not happy about the prospect of two or more of our current state representatives having to run against each other for the 7th District in the August primary.)

You split Madison Heights into 3 sections. And Hazel Park shouldn't be with Ferndale. This map is not good for keeping "like" communities together.

This map completely disregards the long-standing COI between Harper Woods, Grosse Pointe Woods and Shores, and St. Clair Shores. Those communities share the Milk River InterCounty Drain District and a pump station (waste processing) and Board representatives. So we all have the same water and environmental issues. We all have the same flooding issues we are trying to resolve. In addition, Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods share public services, including mutual fire and police aid and animal control. Harper Woods is part of the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce and shares a portion of the school district. This map disregards that long-standing and traditional COI and would disrupt our joint efforts in representation.
